a new spirit and salvation
Salvation is a complete package for life here on earth, and for life in Heaven.

It covers all the good things God's blessings for this life; and, it guarantees that when
our physical bodies die our spirit lives in Heaven with God for eternity.
~~~
God is good.
He is loving, kind, forgiving, and full of compassion. He knows everything, is everywhere at all times, has all the power, and He is HOLY. Because He is holy, our sin (all the wrongs we have done) has separated us from Him. And it prevents us from fully experiencing God's love and His destiny for our lives. For us to be right with God, our sins need to be forgiven.
How can we be forgiven, since this is impossible for us to do ourselves? Being a "good person" or doing good things doesn't cause our sins to be forgiven.
"There is a problem - your sins have cut you off from God. Because of your sin He has
turned away and will not listen to you anymore."  - Isaiah 59:2
[how?]
Jesus made the divine exchange - His life for our salvation.
God said the consequence of sin is death (physical death, separation from God, and eternal suffering). BUT, in the awesomeness of His love for us, God himself did something that we could never do for ourselves. Jesus Christ, God's son, who is fully God, willingly came into this world as a man to take the punishment for our sins because His incredible love for us. He paid the price of our sins by being crucified on a cross. He gave His life so our sins may be forgiven, that we could have a relationship with God, and that after we die our home is in Heaven.
We are saved through faith in Jesus Christ and asking Him to be our Savior. Salvation is
a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.
Jesus is able to do this for us because he lived a sinless life. He is the author of salvation and, it is only through Him that we receive salvation.
Three days after Jesus' death on the cross, God the Father physically raised Him from the dead, sin has been defeated and Jesus lives as our Savior.
When a person asks Jesus to be their Savior and Lord, God sends His Spirit to dwell in their heart and makes them a new person. The Bible calls it as being born again - you are spiritually reborn with God's spirit, and every failure and mistake is forgiven and erased.
"Jesus told them. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."  - John 14:6
"But to all who believe Him and accepted Him, he gave the right to be become the children of God."  - John 1:12
  1. Read the Bible. The Bible is God's words, promises, and ways. The books of John, Romans, and Ephesians are good places to begin.
  2. Pray daily. A simple definition of praying is having a conversation with God (talking & listening).
  3. You need to receive teaching enabling you to mature, operate in faith and spiritual knowledge, and to receive encouragement from other believers. Ask God to direct you to the church He knows will be the best place for you to receive this.
